Starting Rate of Pay: $ 32.49 per hour

Additional $5.50 per hour for candidates with A.S.E. Master Certification

Hours may vary due to operational need

Must have one (1) year experience performing vehicle maintenance or either possess (or be within sixty (60) days of obtaining) a vehicle maintenance certificate from an accredited vocation/trade school or completion of the FedEx Freight, Inc. Apprentice Program with satisfactory performance.

Must possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks

Valid driver's license may be required depending on work assignment

Knowledge of the use and operation of testing equipment, gauges and tools associated with vehicle troubleshooting and repairs

Basic computer skills including maintenance programs, and diagnostic systems

Basic knowledge of gas and diesel engines

Able to frequently lift components weighing approximately 110 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person

Ability to safely operate vehicles equipped with manual and automatic transmission

Ability to enter and exit driver's compartment of truck and/or behind cab using normally available foot and handholds

High School Diploma (or GED), preferred

One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class **A CDL** preferred

Familiarity with precision measurement instruments, oxygen/acetylene equipment, and lifting devices (bottle, floor, wheel, or transmission jacks, floor cranes, etc.) preferred.

Paint and body work experience preferred

Must pass drug test, fit for duty test and background check

Have basic computer skills, Excel skills, and the ability to work with digital record keeping

$27.00/hour

Bi-weekly hourly wage (New York and Puerto Rico: weekly wage)

Minimum of 3 years of professional automotive or truck repair experience

Current ASE certifications (minimum of 3)

Strong knowledge across ASE areas including, but not limited to: Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel

Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and near a mechanical shop with moderate noise levels

Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive and truck repair and maintenance

Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles

Must be at least 21 years of age

Legally authorized to work in the United States

Must be able to obtain DOT medical clearance

Ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year

Previous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage
