Supervise daily paint shop operations, including assigning work, coordinating staffing, and ensuring production schedules and deadlines are met
Review job specifications, sales orders, and blueprints to determine paint requirements, products, chemicals, mix codes, and formulas
Ensure parts are properly prepared and available according to production schedules
Oversee all stages of the painting process, including surface preparation, masking, sandblasting, paint mixing/testing, booth operations, and final quality inspection
Maintain inventory of paint, chemicals, supplies, and other materials while monitoring job costs
Assist with maintenance and cleanliness of paint booths, blast booths, paint guns, cleaning equipment, filters, lighting, and surrounding work areas
Troubleshoot and resolve production, quality, staffing, and equipment issues as they arise
Prepare work assignments and ensure materials and supplies are available for second- and third-shift operations
Coordinate work activities with other departments to maintain an efficient flow of information and production
Work with the Plant Manager to establish department goals and implement strategies to meet production and quality objectives
Communicate regularly with the Plant Manager and other appropriate personnel regarding production, staffing, quality, and operational needs
