Apply basic mathematics and problem-solving skills to estimating activities.
Prepare accurate cost estimates for fabricated metal components and assemblies by gathering information, analyzing critical metrics, and performing risk assessments.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and statements of work.
Working knowledge to proficient GD&T.; welding symbols, and AWS/ASME welding codes.
Create and submit accurate estimate reports or bids to project managers, sales teams, and customers.
Understand parts, projects, and customer requirements.
This role requires fluency in manufacturing processes, strong knowledge of bills of material and routings for metal products, and experience with ERP estimating systems.
The Estimator works closely with internal teams, vendors, and customers to support successful project execution.
Research and analyze manufacturing methods, production times, and materials.
Communicate clearly through presentations and written documentation.
Determine key variables for labor, material, and process costs.
Gather, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Utilize ERP and other quoting systems to develop estimates.
Bachelor's or Associate degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Ability to conduct operator training on standard work to include work instructions, machine adjustments, product quality, company and value stream policies and procedures as required.
3-5 years production work experience preferred.
Ability to sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities.
Knowledge of safety policies and procedures, and ability to promote compliance with them.
Ability to achieve high productivity by reliable and punctual attendance and reporting any tardiness, attendance issues and disciplinary issues to the Production Supervisor.
Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
Skill in communicating effectively through oral and written communications.
Ability to identify and support continuous improvement efforts with the Production Supervisor.
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.
High school diploma or G.E.D
Skill in following detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures.
Knowledge of all operations of the assigned production process required.
Computer experience with Windows Word, Excel, Outlook, JD Edwards and the Internet.
Skill in analytical thinking and problem solving.
Ability to communicate job expectations to production staff and achieving desired results by monitoring, coaching, and enforcing policies and procedures.
