Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing or Advanced Practice nursing degree.

CNOR required for those without Advanced Practice nursing degree.

Two (2) years of operating room experience as scrub nurse, circulating nurse or Advanced Practice Nurse required.

Proof of enrollment in a National Institute of First Assisting (NIFA) Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) approved RNFA program or in an RNFA program that is AORN compliant, has met the specific criteria and is an acceptable program for CRNFA at the time of hire required.

Must obtain letters from Operating Room administration and surgeon supporting remaining number of first assisting hours needed to complete RNFA program.

Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.

Currently certified with Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Must obtain certificate of completion of RNFA program within eight (8) weeks if full-time OR employee; four (4) months if part-time OR employee.

Currently certified with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Credentialed as a Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) by the Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI) within three (3) years from the date of employment required.

Must graduate 45 days or more prior to the start date.

Education - Associate degree in Nursing.

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing.

In lieu of RN licensure upon hire, a temporary license/Graduate Nurse licensure may be accepted upon receipt of diploma, authorization to test and NCLEX testing date. The Graduate Nurse may work in a provisional status with NCLEX testing date provided prior to hire.

After Jan 1, 2019, all newly hired RN's at Prisma Health are required to have an ADN or BSN degree from an accredited institution/program recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Education or the State Board of Nursing.

Holds a current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or is licensed to practice as an RN in the state the team member is working.
