Full Time

10 hr shifts, weekdays vary, start times vary between 8a and 9a. Rotates every 3rd weekend. Occasional back up call, helps cover off shifts, one-two holidays a year.

Graduate of an Accredited Sonography Program and /or ARDMS registered or registry eligible.

ARDMS registered or registry eligible in the areas of abdomen, obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN) and vascular technology (RVT).

One year of experience as a Sonographer preferred.

Associate degree or above preferred

ARDMS registered in Abdomen, Obgyn, and RVT within 18 months of Mayo employment.

Each certification should be achieved every 6 months.

Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of start date.

Days (3-12's shifts)

FTE: 0.90 (3-12's)

Hours: 6:45am-5:15pm

Days: Friday-Sunday

GED or High School Diploma

Graduate of surgical technologist program

BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Less than 1 year of surgical technologist experience

Strong working knowledge of patient care and basic human needs throughout the life span

Strong working knowledge of anatomic structure and human body system

Strong working knowledge of acute and chronic disease processes.

In depth knowledge of medical terminology.

Must have expert knowledge, use and demonstration of standard precautions

Expert knowledge, use and experience with aseptic and sterile technique.

Must have experience training and precepting staff in Cardio-Thoracic surgery

Certification from NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting), AST Association of Surgical Technologists) or NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing) within 1 year of date of hire/transfer.
