The candidate MUST reside in AZ or NM.

Experience in radio communication systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless or broadband/LTE networks

Experience and working knowledge of IP networking, network design methodologies & troubleshooting (Ethernet,TCP/IP, L2/L3, MPLS)

Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by State and local government agencies / customers

Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or Wireless Communications experience

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.

The preferred candidate will reside in the Phoenix or Albuquerque metropolitan areas.

Possession or ability to pursue certifications: CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA-Junos, Nokia NRS1, CCNA or similar

Previous knowledge or experience working with Juniper, Aviat, Cisco, Nokia/Alcatel, Xtreme, and/or Ceragon equipment

Experience or knowledge of switching and routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, iBGP, eBGP, M-BGP, MPLS RSVP TE, and LDP)

Knowledge of line of sight microwave path design characteristics

Experience with Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system maintenance and troubleshooting

Experience leading engineering failure analysis, experimental testing, and results evaluation

Experience planning, modifying, and executing test procedures and data collection processes

Ability to travel as needed (<5% of the time)

Proficiency with RF test equipment (e.g., Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Sources, Power Meters, Communication Analyzers)

Strong foundation in RF principles, including noise analysis, link budgets, antenna radiation pattern analysis, and propagation modeling

Experience with radio interference analysis and mitigation

Experience with MATLAB

Full-time

BS/MS in Engineering discipline or Physics with ability to perform basic engineering analyses (stress, deflection, flow rate, pressure drop, and tolerance stack-up)

Solid understanding of metal working tolerances produced by milling, grinding, turning, and laser/water jet cutting

Experience with Lean Manufacturing and applying statistics in a manufacturing setting

Experience designing, installing, and qualifying production equipment including hand tools, fixtures, gages, and semi-automated equipment

Proficiency at authoring technical documents such as work instructions, test plans, test reports, standard operating procedures, and project reports.

Knowledge and experience with selection of materials commonly used in tools, gages, and assembly fixtures

Capable of performing basic stress analysis using hand calculations and/or FEA software

Basic understanding of pneumatics, controls, sensors, and PLC's

Basic understanding and experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), and process hazard analysis (PHA)

Ability to obtain BATF approval to engage in certain explosive operations

3+ years of experience in supporting manufacturing in a production facility certified to AS9100 or a similar quality management system.
