High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 3-5 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
Ability to read and interpret: Engineering drawings, Blueprints, Specifications, Bills of Material (BOMs), Welding documents, Quality procedures
Knowledge of: Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;), Welding inspection principles, Material certifications, Manufacturing processes, Dimensional inspection techniques
Inspection Equipment - proficient in using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, thickness gauges, dual indicators, surface profile gauges, weld gauges, and precision measuring instruments
Computer Skills - Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, Microsoft Outlook, ERP/MRP systems, electronic quality management systems, and digital inspection reporting systems
Frequent standing and walking throughout production areas
Frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, and reaching
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally
Ability to work in manufacturing, warehouse, and outdoor environments
Must be able to perform incoming material inspection activities as described
Must be able to perform in-process inspections as described
Must be able to perform final inspections as described
Must be able to maintain accurate physical and electronic inspection records, reports, and quality documentation
Must be able to complete inspection checklists and reports in a timely manner
Must be able to review manufacturing travelers, routers, and quality packages for completeness
Must be able to ensure traceability and record retention requirements are maintained
Must be able to assist in preparing quality data for customer reviews and audits
Must be able to identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials and products
Must be able to generate nonconformance reports (NCRs)
Must be able to participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities
Must be able to verify effectiveness of corrective actions when implemented
Must be able to perform quality inspections at vendor facilities as required
Must be able to verify vendor compliance with approved drawings, specifications, purchase order requirements, and quality expectations
Must be able to review vendor manufacturing and inspection records
Must be able to ensure vendor documentation packages are complete prior to shipment
Must be able to assist during customer audits and regulatory audits
Must be able to interface professionally with customers, suppliers, inspectors, and regulatory representatives
Must be able to participate in quality improvement initiatives
Must be able to recommend improvements to inspection methods, processes, and quality systems
Must be able to support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities
Must be able to promote a culture of quality and product compliance throughout the organization
Exposure to welding operations, machining, grinding, paint operations, and material handling activities
May require overtime, weekends, or off-shift work based on production schedules and customer requirements
Occasional travel to suppliers or customer sites may be required
