High school diploma or GED preferred
2-4 years of experience in structural steel fitting, metal fabrication, or a related field
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
Knowledge of structural fitting techniques, welding preparation, and metal layout
Relevant industry certifications as required by employer or project specifications
Experience operating fabrication tools, rigging equipment, hoists, and overhead cranes preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Strong knowledge of structural steel fitting and fabrication techniques
Proficient in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
Ability to accurately measure, lay out, and align structural components
Knowledge of welding preparation, grinding, beveling, and torch cutting
Experience using hoists, cranes, rigging, and lifting equipment safely
Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and time management skills
Knowledge of workplace safety practices and OSHA standards
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods
Occasional travel between plants as needed
May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach/pull/push with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly
May lift or carry 50lbs. Weights exceeding 50lbs will require mechanical means to maneuver
