High school graduate
History of at least five years in pipe fitting is required
Must be able to both fit and connect process piping by means of welding, sweating, swaging, gluing, bolting, threading, clamping, etc.
Able to use various measurement and fitting tools such as measuring tape, levels, veneers, plum bob, laser levels, flange pins, centering points, pipe wrap, hand tools, and power tools, etc.
Proven work history fitting pipe for welders in spooling and targeting pipe layouts at final install
Exceptional math skills relating to pipe fitting/layout using tables, formulas, fitting charts, etc.
Experience fitting and assembling piping per NAVSEA Technical Publication 278 is a plus
OSHA /10 safety training required provided by Rhoads, having an up-to-date OSHA/10 a plus
The Pipe Fitter is responsible for preparing and fitting pipe spools for welders and installs complex piping systems, for machinery, equipment and systems according to verbal, written instruction, piping and instrumentation diagrams (PI&Ds;), and engineered drawings compliant with construction documents.
