Associate's degree from an accredited college or university. Degree must be in Medical Laboratory Science or one of the biological or chemical sciences.

Certification as a laboratory professional by **ASCP****, AMT,** **NCA, or HEW needed.

Laboratory training through an accredited laboratory program preferred.

One to two years experience working in an accredited laboratory preferred, although will consider new grads as well.

Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or surgical technology military program.

Credentialed as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (formerly LCC-ST) required and must be maintained.

Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
