Successful completion of a surgical technologist program that is accredited by a national accrediting organization or a successor organization or must have successfully completed a training program for surgical technologist administered by the US Public Health Service, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard.
Other Minimum of two (2) years' scrubbing experience in a major operating room is required
At least one (1) year of experience as an Open-Heart Scrub Technician is required.
New Hires-Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting is required.
Current BLS Certification is required.
Current Employees/Internal Transfers-Employees hired into this position and working as a CST as of 01/01/2018 are exempt from the NBSTA requirement.
CST certification is required.
Current BLS is required.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patient.
