High school diploma or equivalent,
Minimum of four years' experience as a Navy electrician (EM), Naval Shipyard Electrician.
Possess or ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
Basic knowledge of techniques, materials, tools and equipment used in the electrical trade.
Basic knowledge in electrical theory
Knowledge of Lockout Tag-out procedures and electrical safety.
Obtain PQS 301 Craftsmen qualification within 90 days of hire.
Ability to interpret shipboard electrical schematics, drawings and applicable technical documentation
Ability to use electronic theory (analog and digital, RF knowledge a plus), to use common laboratory electronic test equipment and to work from schematics and rough sketches.
Ability to use test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and computer control equipment.
Ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed written instructions, schematics or drawings in the English language.
Ability conduct activities in a safe manner.
Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
Works from blueprints, drawings, sketches or layouts.
