Employees contribute 7% of earnings to a 401(a) retirement plan, and the Airport contributes 12.15%.

Receive 24 hours of paid time off on your first paycheck, then earn 8.32 hours of PTO each biweekly pay period during your first year. PTO increases with years of service, and unused PTO can be carried forward.

Full-time

The shift schedule is 24 hours on 48 hours off.

Must be certified as a Commonwealth of Kentucky Professional Firefighter Basic II.

Must be certified as a Commonwealth of Kentucky Emergency Medical Responder.

Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT)

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Excellent background with no felony convictions or history of criminal or improper conduct.

Must maintain a valid Commonwealth of Kentucky Driver's license

Pass random drug screenings

Pass a background investigation (criminal and prior employment)

Offers of employment are contingent on passing a drug screen and background check, including an FBI fingerprint criminal history check.

Must complete certification to 14 CFR Part 139, Aircraft Rescue Firefighter within 9 months of hire.

Must be proficient in the operation of all ARFF apparatus and equipment within 9 months of hire.

Position is subject to required initial and yearly recurrent training in one or more of the following areas: Airport Security, Airport Familiarization, Movement and Non-Movement Area Driver's training, as well as periodic mandatory briefings and/or instruction.
