Completion of one of the following educational programs or previous CHRISTUS Emergency Technician experience is required: * Nursing Assistant program * Medical Assistant program * Basic EMT program, Intermediate EMT program * PT Care Tech program * Military basic combat training and Advanced Individual Training for military medics

BLS required

Must maintain one of the following certifications: * Certified Nursing Assistant license in the state of employment * Certified Medical Assistant * Certified Patient Care Tech * Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) national registry or state license

A High School Diploma or GED is preferred

1 - 2 years of patient care experience in an acute care hospital, emergency department, EMT field/Emergency Care, or military medic setting preferred

Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).

Required – Master's degree in Nursing

Required - Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program.

Required - Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC or AANPCP Certified for Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC or AANPCP Certified Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing

Required - License as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice, NCCPA Certified, Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association. Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Medical Examiners.

Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of required job information.

Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.

Reliable transportation as must be able to travel throughout and between facilities.

Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).

The incumbent works in a patient care area; works in an area where patients enter; works directly with patients; and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.

Basic knowledge in the areas of microbiology, immunology or molecular biology and biochemistry as related to infectious diseases required

One of the following national certification/registrations is required: * Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) by ASCP * Certified Medical Laboratory Assistant (CMLA) by AMT * Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) by ASCP * Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT) by AMT * Certified Phlebotomy Technologist (CPT) by NPA

State license is required to practice in Louisiana * CLS - Laboratory Assistant by LSBME

All Associates are required to obtain the required certifications for their respective positions within the designated time frame.

Associate of Science Degree preferred

1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting or length of time to complete certification program preferred

$22.00- $32.00 per hour based on experience (Geismar, LA)

Guaranteed pay increases based on training completion and verified experience

$100 annual boot allowance, paid in quarterly installments

$250 Semi-Annual Tool Allowance after one year of service (up to $500 Annually)

Pay Range: 21.00-32.00 per_hour

Must successfully pass a background check, MVR review, drug screen, and physical examination as a condition of employment due to the safety-sensitive nature of the position.
