Minimum 7 years of documented industrial rigging experience, including at least 3 years in a lead rigger, rigging foreman, or rigging supervisor role
Demonstrated ability to function as a Qualified Rigger for the rigging work assigned, with advanced knowledge of rigging equipment, load control, hitch selection, sling angles, center of gravity, load distribution, and working load limits
Qualified Signal Person training/qualification for crane operations, including standard hand, voice, and radio signaling methods
Ability to read and apply crane load charts, lift plans, rigging sketches, engineered lift drawings, equipment tags, manufacturer instructions, and working load limit information
Advanced working knowledge of wire-rope slings, synthetic web/round slings, alloy chain slings, shackles, hooks, lifting beams/spreader bars, chain falls, come-alongs, plate clamps, and other below-the-hook devices
Knowledge of inspection criteria and removal-from-service requirements for rigging equipment and the ability to identify wear, cuts, broken wires, heat/chemical damage, deformation, missing identification, damaged hardware, and other defects
Knowledge of fall-zone control, suspended-load hazards, pinch/crush points, line-of-fire exposure, power-line hazards, ground/site conditions, weather and wind considerations, and safe load landing practices
Experience leading THA/JHA discussions, pre-lift meetings, routine lift plans, and critical/complex lift planning
Strong supervisory and communication skills with the ability to direct riggers, signal persons, crane operators, truck drivers, fabrication crews, maintenance personnel, and HSE personnel during lifting operations
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Must be able to perform the essential functions of a safety-sensitive position and satisfy Deltak pre-employment requirements
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in South Louisiana industrial conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, noise, dust, welding/fabrication activity, and moving equipment
Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, reach, inspect rigging and loads, and access work areas throughout an 8-10 hour shift or longer as operations require
Must maintain the visual, auditory, communication, and physical abilities necessary to safely supervise lifting and rigging operations and use required PPE
