High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Minimum of two years of relevant machining experience within the last ten years; OR successful completion of approved machining coursework.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.

Experience using precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.

Knowledge of machining principles, cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and material applications.

Ability to perform machine setups and operate machining equipment safely and effectively.

Experience operating manual lathes and milling machines.

Experience operating CNC lathes, machining centers, and related equipment.

Completion of Machine Shop Practices I, II, III, and IV coursework.

Completion of Metals & Heat Treatment and Numerical Control Programming coursework.

Strong understanding of GD&T; and blueprint interpretation.

Experience using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and advanced inspection equipment.

Manufacturing, repair, job shop, valve, pump, or industrial machining experience.

Pay: $33.76

The starting rate for this position in Virginia (US-VA) is $33.76 per hour.

Must also meet **one** (1) of the following training/experience requirements**:** * * Must have successfully completed a Machining Diploma or an equivalent program from a recognized trade school or community college (minimum 2-year accredited program) by **July 2026**. * * Must have successfully graduated (or currently enrolled) in the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) Machining program. * * A State Certified Machinist Journeyman's Card is required. (The Journeyman's Card or required diploma must be completed prior to **July 2026** to be considered for an interview. If hired with no Journeyman's Card, the candidate must agree to complete the apprenticeship program.) * * Minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing machining or tool making (or equivalent combination of education and experience). * * Military Service equivalent in pay grade E-6 or above. Must have experience in computer vision and machine learning, with a strong focus on deep generative models (e.g., GANs, VAEs, diffusion models).

Must have experience in signal processing with demonstrated knowledge and application of signal processing techniques.

Travel (30-40%) domestic and international is required.
