Associate degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field required; equivalent experience may be considered.
Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment required; four (4) to six (6) years preferred.
Completion of an apprenticeship program is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve production control issues.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision on complex assignments.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Excellent computer skills including working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Track the progress of manufactured products throughout the shop to ensure alignment with production schedules.
Coordinate with all departments to ensure materials, parts, and services are delivered on time and in support of production requirements.
Resolve shop workstation loading conflicts and coordinate movement of materials, parts, and tooling as needed.
Coordinate movement of parts and materials into and out of storage locations.
Work closely with production supervisors and manufacturing engineers regarding material availability, special handling, and schedule changes.
Anticipate potential production delays and take proactive steps to mitigate risks.
Expedite materials, parts, and tooling to maintain production schedules.
Review travelers for completeness and identify any open or missing operations.
Review bills of material (BOM) and determine material availability or purchasing requirements.
Assist in make-or-buy decisions to support production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Distribute and maintain controlled shop documents including drawings and procedures.
Perform ERP transactions such as issuing parts to jobs, updating job status, and closing jobs.
Communicate production priorities to support manpower planning and allocation.
