Finite Element Modeling and structural analysis of aircraft rotary and linear actuation equipment and components such as gears, splines, shafts, bearings, ballscrews, housings, fasteners and other related parts (ANSYS a must, experience with Altair/Hyperworks desired)
Fatigue analysis methods including Miner's Rule, Rainflow, Equivalent Loading, Damage Tolerance (NASGRO)
Shock, Vibration and deflection FEA analysis
Stress analysis using traditional textbook methods (Roark, Shigley, Peterson, etc.)
Thermal FEA analysis for electric motors, actuator, and motor drive electronics assemblies and printed circuit boards
Ability to communicate and work collaboratively within product development teams, present work during formal design reviews, and document work clearly in deliverable stress and thermal analysis reports
Familiarity with analysis of rotating transmission equipment including geared components, splines, bearings, shafts, and housings; Finite element analysis experience, ANSYS required; Familiarity with fatigue analysis techniques and computer analysis tools such as Matlab, MathCad, NASGRO, Orbis; Familiarity with high strength materials; Experience using FEA for steady state and transient thermal simulation of mechanical and electronics equipment
Experience with NX Computer Aided Design is highly desirable as basis for FEA modeling; Experience with gearing and gearbox mechanical design and layout using NX is desirable
