Lead Principal Data Hall Designer
Strategizes the planning, design, and optimization of data center white space, including rack layout, hot/cold aisle containment, power distribution, cable pathways, and build phases
Leads engagements with colocation providers, developers, and multidisciplinary internal teams (e.g., mechanical, plumbing, construction operations)
Drives the strategic alignment and execution of innovative white space designs
Shapes and refines design standards and Basis of Design (BoD) documents
Designs and strategizes low voltage structured cabling systems
Oversees and influences the review of new site layouts and proposed fit-out designs, including failover configurations
Leads engagements with colocation providers, developers, and internal teams (e.g., facilities, construction, operations)
Leads collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering functions (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire, Controls)
Directs and influences complex project coordination meetings
Serves as a subject matter expert on the partnership with technology partners (e.g., network, compute, carrier)
Leads and influences high impact white space design initiatives and complex engineering projects
Provides direction to internal and external project team members, including contractors and vendors
Ensures project deliverables meet and exceed company expectations, standards, and schedules
Provides deep expertise in contract administration, managing change orders, cost forecasts, and engineering documentation
Mentors and inspires junior engineers and new team members
Influences strategic efforts in on-site design validation, commissioning, and comprehensive engineering analysis
Serves as the principal authority on mission-critical systems, strategically validates and oversees their integration with ongoing operations
Provides expert proactive and strategic engineering support during high-impact live events and incident investigations
Manages documentation processes for effective capture, storage, and dissemination
Enforces standards for best practices across operations and field engineering teams
Influences the creation and ongoing evolution of global data center infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures
Leads the development and review of comprehensive documentation for standards adherence, commissioning protocols, and system testing
Leads design summits, policy reviews, and commissioning activities
Leads research and evaluation of new designs, materials, and construction methods for mission-critical systems
Provides expert guidance on the development and testing of complex engineering solutions
Drives the creation and validation of digitized data center models
Enhances the reliability and performance of components, systems, and installation methods
Drives the development of internal engineering seminars, training programs, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
Drives collaboration with networking teams on network-related efforts (e.g., building fabrics)
Oversees partnership with software engineering team to design data into digital systems for automation
Drives coordination of design data to work with internal systems and databases
Manages and provides direction on timelines, deliverables, and budgets when applicable for critical high-impact projects or initiatives
Anticipates and plans for shifts in resources or timelines based on changing business priorities
Influences cross-functional leaders and external stakeholders to gain alignment on strategic objectives
