Nurse Practitioner

Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state/jurisdiction where the correctional facility is located.

The successful applicant should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the actual job performance requirements:

Experience in providing primary care or relevant experience in correctional or underserved populations is preferred.

Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.

Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.

Physical Requirements/Demands: Stand/Walk most of the time on duty; significant amount of bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance; push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds.

Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.

Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

NOTE: One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: • ACLS/ALS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) • PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization) • S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) • Six Assessment & Care Modules • Other unit-specific certifications as required.

Preferred Certifications: IV Certification within 1 year of hire.

This is a Fee for Service (W2) position, the range for this position is $61,000-$89,000 per year based on 15-20 clinical hours per week.
