This is an on-site, full-time, safety-sensitive position.

Standard days and hours of work vary by department, days and hours determined by department schedules.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Minimum 2 Years related experience in discipline or 5 years in Shipboard Piping, machinery, and/or similar installations.

Knowledge of Piping systems, vessel equipment (Deck Machinery, Hydro Tests, Visual Inspections, Tank inspections, flushing.

Knowledge of Marine Classification Society Rules

Knowledge of testing/inspection equipment

Ability to read and interpret blueprints a must or be trainable to read blue prints.

Basic computer skills required

Must have the ability to enter a confined space.

Must be comfortable with heights and use or operation of Manlifts.

A range of motion sufficient to perform general lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, climbing, working at heights, extended walking or standing, etc. is required.

Employment in this position is contingent upon passing the medical examination.

Knowledge of shipbuilding a plus

Knowledge of Microsoft a plus (i.e. Excel, Word, etc.)

Job requires potential overnight travel and will require off shift work.

Required: High School diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of inspection related experience.

Must be qualified and certified to ASNT-TC-1A in the following NDT Methods that will be utilized: * Radiographic (RT)

Valid Driver's License

Previous Level II Certification to ASNT-TC-1A including documented objective evidence of classroom and on the job training experience

Must demonstrate the ability to read the equivalent of the size and letters of the Jaeger I chart at a minimum distance of 12 inches and distinguish and differentiate the contrasts between colors illustrated on an Ishihara Test Chart including shades of gray.

Inspection personnel performing work on elevated surfaces shall be capable of wearing the required fall protection equipment.

Inspection personnel shall be physically capable of crawling in and out of small manways, climb inside vessels, towers, heaters, or other confined spaces for inspection activities, often wearing Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) as required to comply with safety regulations.

Inspection personnel shall be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 pounds

Inspection personnel shall be fluent (written and verbal) in the English language.

Computer skills, especially familiarity with MS Office applications, are necessary.

Experience in working with the following codes/standards: ASME, AWS, ISO and other standards are desired.

Preferred: 2 years of inspection related experience with a completion of 2 years of college in technical or engineering related discipline from a university, college, or technical school.

Preferred: 1 year of inspection related experience with a degree in engineering or science from a university or accredited college.

Preferred candidate to have previous shooters card along with Safety Training associated with Radiography.

Preferred candidate will be a Certified Level II Digital Radiography (DR)

Preferred candidate will be Certified in one or more of the following NDT methods in conjunction with RT: * Visual Examination (VT), * Liquid Penetrant Examination (PT) * Magnetic Particle Examination (MT) * Ultrasonic Examination
