CNC Machinist Apprentice
The Machinist Apprentice is required to meet all CTMAA standards for CNC Machinist set by the CTMAA Committee.
The Apprentice must remain actively enrolled in an accredited CTMAA program.

Knowledge of tooling, including best grades to use for different materials and jobs, cutting, speeds and feeds, drilling, threading, and machine capabilities
Must be able to use large wrenches to tighten fixtures
Troubleshoot and edit programs to safely increase metal removal rate and decrease in cycle time
1 to 3 years of experience in a related field and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Use precision measuring instruments to check parts
Competent in GD&T's
Must have own tools, such as, hammers, wrenches, pliers, etc.
Improve quality by inspecting parts and make sure that part is to print
High School diploma or equivalent is required
Make set ups strong and safe enough to run at optimum speeds and depths of cut
Read blueprints, traveler, and measuring micrometer
Ability to set up and run CNC machines in time allocated
CNC Machinist
Must be able to gain self-inspection stamp within a six-month period of time by machining a high quality product
Must be available to work overtime when required for priority shipments
Must be able to manipulate large castings in place for machining
Knowledge of CNC controls and programming skills
Must be able to perform TPM's

Strong experience with CNC programming (G-code/M-code) and machine setup for CNC lathes
