Graveyard Shift

Production demands may require overtime and/or evening or weekend scheduling.

Schedules vary from 10-12 hours shift work required.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Must have at least 7 years + experience.

Must have Technician II

PSM/RMP certification.

Required to be able to pass and maintain annual medical and pulmonary fit tests for respirator use.

Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and Process Safety Management (PSM) is required.

Must be able to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, and moving around refrigeration systems.

Repetitive pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending and lifting objects in excess of 80 lbs.

Requires walking or standing for long periods of time, ascending and descending stairs and ladders.

Technical degree in preferred.

Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience helpful.

English/Spanish bilingual is a plus.

Use of technology such as computers, mobile devices, etc. preferred.

Target Pay Range: $25.00-$30.00

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand and may include little to no advanced notice.

High School diploma and 10+ years of relevant supply chain management, logistic/distribution experience.

6+ years of supervisory experience leading a team.

Valid driver's license that complies with Vallen's standards.

May be required to handle hazardous materials and wear various forms of protective equipment (shoes, gloves, protective eyewear, etc.).

Required to properly operate and control a motor vehicle; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Sitting, standing, walking, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying multiple times per shift, fingering, talking, hearing, and seeing.

May be required to lift and carry up to 75 pounds; must have the ability to handle physical inventory that requires hand dexterity.

Associate degree + 7 years of relevant supply chain management, logistic/distribution experience. 3+ years of supervisory experience leading a team.

Swing Shift

Proficient on a milling machine, drill press, engine lathe, and vertical/horizontal boring mills.

Knowledge of rigging and overhead crane operation, lifting device use and inspection and load calculations.

Have the ability to work at heights.

Have the ability to work in confined spaces.

Ability to do basic math, i.e. add, subtract, divide and multiply.

Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English

Ability to do percentages, metric and decimal conversions, multiply fractions and decimals as required for use in measurements,

Reads and understands blueprints and assembly drawings.

Understand and demonstrate the use of all standard shop measuring tools: * Micrometers inside, outside, and depth. * Vernier scales and/or dial calipers. * Rulers and tape measures. * Indicators * Protractors, Vernier, linear. * Firm joint and spring joint calipers inside and outside. * Height gauges. * Pi tapes.

High school diploma, GED, or greater.

Prospective employees must pass a drug and alcohol test and background check as pre-employment screening.

Safety equipment required: Hard hat, eye and ear protection, respirator, no loose clothing, must wear leather shoes/work boots.

Must have normal field of vision in order to safely navigate around machine shop area and on-board ship.

5 years of relevant work experience preferred.

Proven skills: Work history and/or applicable education will be considered in lieu of work experience.

Working knowledge of shipboard machinery (i.e. valves and actuators, variety of pumps, gears and gear boxes, winches, heat exchangers, bearings and shafting, rudder systems, field machining) pertaining to machine shop repairs.

Propulsion basics including variable pitch props.

Pumps - types and mechanical seals.

Steam systems.

Underwater hull machinery, including bearings.

Blowers, winches, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.

Shipboard systems including condensers, heat exchangers, fuel, lube oil, and cooling.

Knowledge of overboard and suction ship valves (Disassembly, clean, lap and blue).
