For the ND-05: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a Professional Engineer or Scientist leading the personnel resourcing, and execution or direction of projects, systems development efforts, research or technology for submarine and/or surface electromagnetic systems for a naval undersea warfare organization.
For the ND-04: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 (GS-09/11 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a Professional Engineer or Scientist supporting projects and leading small teams throughout the engineering lifecycle for submarine and/or surface electromagnetic systems for a naval undersea warfare organization.
Applicants must possess 08XX Series: Successful completion of a degree in Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: statics, dynamics; strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); fluid mechanics, hydraulics; thermodynamics; electrical fields and circuits; nature and properties of materials; and any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR a combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and a good understanding of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
For the 1550 Series: A bachelor's degree in computer science OR A bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
