Hands-on experience with fiber optic installation in field, construction, or related environments.
Practical experience working in data center construction or similar technical build environments.
Proficiency with structured cabling, including installation and support of SM and MM fiber.
Ability to install fiber trays, ladder racks, and cable pathways in a data center setting.
Experience performing fiber splicing, termination, and testing.
Ability to interpret blueprints, cable schedules, and network diagrams accurately.
Familiarity with and proper use of fiber testing equipment such as OTDRs, power meters, and VFLs.
Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving fiber network issues.
Understanding of quality standards for labeling, documentation, and cable management.
Knowledge of OSHA and site-specific safety practices and requirements.
Commitment to safe work practices and consistent use of appropriate PPE.
Ability to maintain detailed and accurate installation, testing, and as-built documentation.
Willingness and ability to work on-site in a data center build and construction environment.
