Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering, Oceaneering, Naval Architecture or related major.
2 years general experience with the installation, operation, repair, testing and maintenance of naval or marine structure and preservation systems.
Experience in the assessment, repair, and maintenance of structure and coating systems on US Naval ships.
Have knowledge about sheet-metal, preservation, nonskid, materials, insulation, piping and welding on Navy Ships.
Hands-on experience with this equipment in the last two years.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, inspections, visit processes and reporting methods for visits.
Ability to utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for compiling information for reports and history files and transfer digital pictures from camera to computer and enhance as required and label them for report purposes.

Ability to obtain and maintain an active SECRET clearance.
Requires walking, reaching, sitting and concentration in the presence of occasional noise
Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts/yardarms (onboard ships)
Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs in weight
Ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp
Ability to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions
Ability to wear a respirator
