High school diploma or equivalent.
At least six months of machining, machine shop, or related mechanical experience.
Basic understanding of manual machining processes, machine shop practices, and shop safety.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and follow written repair instructions.
Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
Willingness to work in a fast‑paced machine shop environment with shifting priorities.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality marine components.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English at a level necessary to understand work instructions, safety procedures, technical drawings, and to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, and safety procedures.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail during machining and inspection tasks.
Ability to document work performed and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
