High School Diploma or equivalent required
Two (2) years of college strongly preferred
Minimum 10 years of safety and/or transportation experience
Deep knowledge of OSHA/regulatory standards
Collision investigation training
Minimum 5 years' experience in fleet transportation management
State/Provincial Instructor Certification in at least one state/province within the region
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and corporate databases
Travel frequently within the Midwest region, including driving or riding in company vehicles, visiting transit properties, and conducting on‑site safety inspections
Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
Occasionally lift, carry, or move materials and equipment up to 25 pounds
Navigate transit facilities, maintenance shops, yards, and active operational environments, including uneven surfaces, stairs, and outdoor areas in varying weather conditions
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety vests, hard hats, safety glasses, and protective footwear during site visits
Conduct on‑site accident or incident investigations, which may involve bending, crouching, standing for long periods, and accessing restricted areas
Communicate effectively in office and field environments, including clear verbal communication, hearing standard conversation levels, and viewing documents, screens, and operational areas
Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen
