High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 3 years of welding experience in manufacturing, fabrication, pressure vessel, valve, piping, or nuclear industry environment.
Current or previous qualification to ASME Section IX welding procedures.
Ability to read and interpret weld symbols and engineering drawings.
Experience using precision measuring instruments including tape measures, calipers, and weld gauges.
Strong understanding of welding fundamentals, metallurgy, distortion control, and fit-up practices.
Ability to pass ASME Section IX performance qualifications as required.
Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
Ability to wear required PPE, including welding helmet, respirator, gloves, and protective clothing.
Must meet vision requirements necessary to perform quality welding work.
