Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with emphasis in Business Administration, Economics, Production, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations Management, and/or Engineering.
Two to four (2-4) years of progressively responsible purchasing and materials control experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working with international suppliers / supply chains.
Understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, logistics, planning, and inventory management.
Proficiency with procurement software, ERP systems, and reporting tools; experience with JD Edwards (JDE) is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to support decision-making.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Ability to resolve supply chain issues and help ensure timely delivery of materials.
Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in orders, data, and compliance with specifications.
Desire to learn, understand business processes, and recommend improvements where appropriate.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, goods, and services to meet the company's operational requirements.
This position monitors supplier performance, delivery commitments, and material availability while working directly with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, and service-related issues.
The Buyer manages supplier relationships and helps ensure suppliers meet established performance expectations related to quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
This is a regular, full-time, on-site position located at HURST in Shelby, NC.
