Twelve (12) years of experience operating, repairing, and maintaining naval or marine propulsion, hull, mechanical, electrical, or electronic equipment and systems aboard U.S. Navy ships.
Four (4) years directing or supervising less-skilled technical personnel performing repair and maintenance functions.
Five (5) years administering Navy 3M and Supply systems.
U.S. Navy surface ship or aircraft carrier experience.
Documented mechanical technical knowledge and expertise in U.S. Navy shipboard systems and equipment.
Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and other mechanical technical data used in the operation of naval hull, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
An associate degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university may substitute for up to two (2) years of technician experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
Ability to go aboard ships, barges, and other naval craft.
Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways onboard ships.
Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs. in weight.
