2nd Shift Machinist
3 to 5 years of experience in machine shop practices and techniques
Ability to use geometry, algebra, and trigonometric principles together with the use of engineering drawings, specifications, and tables
Requires a working knowledge of shop practices and machining fundamentals as acquired through vocational training and/or experience
Must have the ability to properly operate overhead crane and lift trucks
Judgment is needed for the difficult setups, and selection of tooling and fixturing
Ability to comprehend machining practices and techniques for fabricating generator and large turbine parts and components of various designs
The physical ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required: Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus
Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals
