Maintains a level of technical competence in the specified field of testing
A technical diploma with four years of experience or more, working in a structural or construction laboratory testing environment in the testing, inspection, and certification industry
Understanding of data acquisition
Maintains good housekeeping, taking care of safety and always using PPE
Flexibility in work schedule and working overtime, if needed
Technician – Fire testing - to join our Building Products team in Tulsa, OK
Conducts supervised and/or unsupervised testing, data analysis and test report preparation per the QAI competency matrix
Cooperates well with others
Work is checked by “qualified staff”
Can work with the team to effectively resolve technical issues and determine the appropriate interpretation of technical requirements; produce necessary documentation
The successful candidate will
Learning key standards in subject area
Meets department goals and objectives (i.e. KPI's for productivity, turnaround time, etc.
Knowledge of common ASTM, UL and CSA test methods relating to building products
Completes testing of limited complexity, works with mentor, until “qualified”
Maintains a level of technical competence in the field of testing to ensure validity of test results
Alignment with QAI's core values
Able to operate relevant test equipment
Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or its designee
May provide sales support; quoting and participates in client meetings
Maintains effective communication with internal staff and clients
Effectively/ efficiently deals with multiple projects, conflicting timelines, and changing priorities
