High School diploma or equivalent, and 1 to 2 years' experience in a related shipping/receiving environment
Physically mobile, must be able to lift, twist, stand, bend, within a manufacturing, shipping, receiving, loading, and unloading area setting
Review and verify incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
Assembles wooden, cardboard, or other types of containers or selects preassembled containers
Inserts, packs, seals, secures items into containers in such a way to prevent damage to items during shipment
Stamps, stencil, or glue identifying information, custom markings, and / or shipping instructions onto crates or containers
Interface positively and effectively with manufacturing ERP systems, intercompany departments, customers, shipping companies, packing companies, or other related companies / applications / organizations
Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, shortages, overages, etc. Corresponds with and resolves issues with Ametek Purchasing and / or suppliers
Routes items to internal departments, stock items, and pick items from inventory
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure all shipments meet specifications
Maintains proper inventory levels of shipping materials and supplies
Operates power standing forklift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving areas to storage or work areas
Must follow all safety policy and procedures
Must always follow good housekeeping practices including 5S
Must have basic knowledge of Import / Export practices and procedures
Must strive to meet on-time delivery requirements set forth by the company
Must work well in a team environment and work well with others
