Must be detail oriented, good workmanship while taking and following direction with little to no supervision
Must be able to operate paint spray equipment, mixing equipment, booth equipment, work from ladders, lifts, etc. to properly apply various paints and coatings to industrial products
Must be able to select appropriate coatings, paints, or sprays and prepare them by mixing in the correct ratios using automated paint mixing equipment
Forklift and overhead crane experience required
Ability to read and interpret a tape measure, engineering drawings, and bills of material (BOM's)
May work with unpleasant or toxic fumes and materials wearing protective and safety equipment
Painter spends a substantial portion of the work time spray painting
Wear a mask, fresh air breathing apparatus or other safety equipment as needed, when working with paint products emitting hazardous vapors
Shop manufacturing environment exposures include exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools and equipment, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, motorized vehicles, welding, and machining operations, outside weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electric shock
The noise level in the shop can be very loud at times consistent with an industrial assembly facility and may require hearing protection
