The ability to read and interpret blueprints and templates to accurately lay out and fit structural components.
The structural fitter works as part of a team and regularly coordinates with a Tacker-Helper to properly align components prior to tack welding.
Typical work hours range from 40 to 60 hours per week. Hours worked beyond 40 in a week are considered overtime. A 30-minute unpaid lunch break is provided.
This position requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints and templates to accurately lay out and fit structural components.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints
The work is hands-on and physically demanding, involving frequent standing, walking, bending, and handling of materials. Occasional lifting of materials up to 40 pounds is required. Heavier materials may be handled with assistance or mechanical equipment.
Precision is essential. The position involves aligning and positioning metal parts to exact specifications using hand tools and mechanical alignment equipment.
5+ years of experience as a Shipfitter 1st Class
A strong commitment to safety is required. Employees must attend safety meetings, wear required personal protective equipment, and comply with all HSEQ policies and procedures.
Employees are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from the facility.

Thorough knowledge of ship and propulsion systems
US Citizenship
Thorough knowledge of engine alignment and shaft design and alignment
Strong working knowledge of Maritime Regulatory Authorities (i.e. ABS, DNV, GL, NAVSEA, MIL, USCG, IMO, etc.)
Thorough knowledge of HVAC design
Experienced in interacting with Production, multiple design teams from several companies, customer representatives and equipment manufacturers
Willing to submit to a drug screen
Minimum 8 plus years of design and/or construction experience
Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree or minimum 15 years of equivalent marine design experience
Thorough knowledge of ship and propulsion system design and operation
Computer literate and familiar with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products
No felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within seven years from disposition date
18 years of age or older at time of application
No felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from disposition date
Willing to submit to a background check
Able to provide proof of US Person Status
