Changes oil, checks batteries, repair tires and tubes and lubricates equipment and machinery.
GENERAL FUNCTION: Inspects, repairs and maintains functional automotive and mechanical equipment and machinery such as forklifts, front-end loaders and cherry pickers along with that of electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
When repairs to electronic components are done following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications.
Maintains service records on vehicles and equipment.
Performs "tag out" or "lock out" procedures on equipment in the yard.
Inspects defective equipment and diagnoses malfunctions using analyzers, pressure gauges, chassis charts and factory manuals.
Operate equipment to test its functioning.
Disassembles and overhauls engines, pumps, pump power units, generators, transmissions, clutches and rear ends, using hand tools and hoist.
Adjusts brakes, aligns wheels, tightens bolts and screws, and reassembles equipment.
