To qualify for this position, and prior to becoming a key holder, candidates must have successfully completed testing on all required Intermediate training.

3+ years of experience in a shipyard
Ability to certify in the following: **SMAW** (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) , **GTAW** (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) , **FCAW** (Flux Core Arc Welding) or **Silver Brazing**
Ship compartment naming conventions
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and familiarity with U.S. standard and metric measurement systems.
