Four to six (4 – 6) years' experience in an engineering role with strong background in both mechanical and structural engineering
Four (4) years' experience in job specific discipline
Familiarity with structural steel design is required
Proficiency with MS Office software
Experience with engineering software such as Auto-Cad
Familiarity with structural engineering software such as MSC-Patran or similar software
Proficiency with metric system preferred
Knowledge/experience concerning modern shipbuilding practices is a plus
International experience or familiarity with Asian Shipbuilding Standards is a plus
Be able to familiarize yourself with shipyard terminology and facilities equipment, such as crane and transporters
Must be able to perform under pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities
Must be a self-motivated, proactive individual with strong interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills, able to write reports and give presentations
Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes, and smoke
A range of motion sufficient to perform general lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, climbing, working at heights, extended walking or standing
