Must have a valid California State driver's license
Proven knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, codes and ordinances relating to building construction, including State Energy and Accessibility regulations.
Understanding of the accepted safety standards, testing procedures and methods of construction.
Principles and techniques of building inspection work.
Basic understanding of the plan checking process.
Computer knowledge and skills are desirable.
Maintain a healthy working relationship with contractors, builders, and the public;
Must have excellent customer service skills including, good listening and negotiating skills;
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Must have excellent critical thinking and decision making skills;
Must be able to kneel, crouch, and climb tall ladders;

8 Hour Night (Graveyard) - Tue-Sat (10PM to 6:30 AM)
Understand basic scanning electron microscope (SEM) principle.
This is a physically demanding position that often requires extensive walking, standing for extended periods of time, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 35 lbs., the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools.
Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
