1-2 years institutional and restaurant experience including operating dish room equipment and washing pots, pans, utensils
Working knowledge of all food preparation and production standards including sanitation safety standards
Experience in a fast-paced kitchen and volume, batch cooking
Strong organizational skills
Strong communication skills, flexibility and willingness to shift priorities as needed
Ability to interact effectively as a team member
Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
Reliable and consistent attendance is required
Food Handler permit required; serve safe training preferred (must acquire within 30 days of hire)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Sensitivity to the needs of guests who are homeless, low-income, limited English speaking, or impacted by domestic violence, substance abuse or other barriers to employment
Commitment to diversity and an ability to work well with diverse family styles and multiethnic populations
Complete and submit a TB test within 30 days of employment
Travel to program sites and meetings outside the office and around the county are necessary
