3+ years of payroll experience (management experience preferred)
Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance
Experience handling multi-state payroll is a plus
Proficiency in payroll software and Excel
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and client service skills
Shift M-F 8am-5pm
Pay: $25-$35/hr can go higher for the right candidate
6 month Contract to hire
The Payroll Manager will oversee all aspects of payroll processing for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely filings
Review and approve payroll reports, tax filings, and payments
Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations (including filings with the Internal Revenue Service)
Prepare and/or review quarterly and annual payroll tax filings (Forms 941, state returns, W-2s, etc.)
Supervise and train payroll staff
Resolve client payroll issues and respond to inquiries
Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy
Work with payroll systems such as Apex HR Payroll, ADP Workforce Now, or similar platforms
Stay up to date with payroll laws and compliance changes
Understand the tax calculations on form 941/940
Identify federal and state deposit frequency schedule
Submit and E-file 941/940 in website
Tax deposits in EFTPS/batch software
