Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Ability to work a schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00AM -3:30PM with alternating weekends
Experience with determining the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
Experience performing routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
Experience monitoring, operating and troubleshooting instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
Experience preparing, testing and evaluating new reagents or controls
Experience reporting accurate and timely test results
Experience performing and documenting preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
Experience identifying and replenishing testing bench supplies
Experience assisting with processing of specimens when needed
Experience maintaining a safe work environment and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
Proficiency with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems
High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
