Assistant Press Operator
Temp-to-hire opportunity
Able to pass color perception test
Trained in LOTO and starting/stopping press
Communicate and work with teams to achieve department goals
Execute basic quality checks and QA/Production paperwork as needed
Ability to interpret/compare traveler and artwork to ensure production will meet specifications
Ability to obtain necessary inks from inventory, return unused inks based on traveler and schedule
Ability to check ink viscosities, maintain/adjust inks to meet visual specifications
Ability to wash down inking stations with minimal downtime and waste
Ability to splice roll procedure
Assist Press Operator with Changeover (safely run flushes, change inks, change dr. blades, etc.)
Assist in loading/removing plain or printed film using hoisting equipment safely
Check the treatment of mill roll, load & unload roll properly
Perform housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe work area
Meet Safety, Quality and Production targets on all equipment
Able to perform all quality checks and fill out required QA and Production Paperwork as needed
Adjust inks for color and viscosity
Demonstrate understanding of different types of inks and their usage
Identify and correct basic operational issues with the inking and roll handling systems
Demount plates/sleeves to Pre-Press Department
Use defect detection systems to identify issues and notify operator
Assist in threading printing press
Create inventory control tickets in DSI
Perform very basic operation of line under emergency situations
Maintain high level of housekeeping in work area
Train others of lower levels
Successfully work with teams and team members to achieve department goals
