High School Diploma or GED required
3+ years of experience with heavy equipment production line welding
Must be able to safely MIG, TIG, and stick weld, and arc gouging to include passing of test(s)
Must be able to safely weld vertical, flat, and overhead with both MiG and stick
Must read and understand weld symbols
Must select proper rods or wires to perform the welding job
Must maintain welding machines by keeping them clean and changing liners in the welding guns
Must be trained in and know PPE requirements for welding including hood and filter shades and arm/body protection
Successful completion of Permit Required Confined Space Entry training is needed
Must be able to safely use cranes and forklifts
Read and understand assigned blueprints prior to starting a project
Welders are responsible for the layout of plant equipment for welding to ensure proper welding of metal parts
Must test all hot oil piping for leaks and repairs as necessary
Inspection includes the safe use of air hose, pressure regulator, and squirt bottle
Must have the ability to read and understand weld symbols
Weld metal components with welding equipment to fit and join, fabricate, and/or repair heavy and large mechanical products per specifications and in accordance with the production schedule
