Dispatched to other buildings within the Navy yard and possible other job sites at times when requested
Layout, position, align and secure parts & assemblies according to specifications by using tape measures, straightedges, combination squares, levels, and other various measuring tools.
High school Graduate
Set-up and operate machinery to support the fabrication such as punching, shearing, cutting, drilling etc.
Can cut material by means of cutting torch, plasma torch track burner shears etc.
US Citizenship required.
The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats and hearing protection is required.
OSHA /10 safety training required provided by Rhoads
History of experience in this industry required
Understands welding symbols, decipher work packages diagrams, blueprints, and or other printed instructional material.
Perform welding using the GMAW welding processes
Related Trade school
Work with others to assist in the fabrication of multi-component fabrications
5+ year experience in fabrication industry
Have performed structural welding in various positions to AWS D1. 1..
Read and understand work packages, drawings, and blueprints.
Have experience in the GMAW (Pulse and Spray), and FCAW welding processes
Must qualify to Plate in the 3-G and 4-G position Per AWS D1.1 using the GMAW process.

Must pass pre-employment weld tests administered in accordance with Holtec's WPS requirements.
Minimum of 2-4 years of welding experience in a heavy plate manufacturing or industrial environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical documentation.
Ability to perform and pass FCAW weld tests in 2G and 3G positions is required.
Working knowledge of AWS standards and industry best practices.
