May lead and direct the work of others.
Contact is routine and primarily with employees in the immediate work unit and/or members of the public in a highly structured situation.
Weld all types of materials.
Train other associates.
Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.
Modifies or extends written guidelines that do not cover all situations and problems.
Operates under supervision expressed in terms of goals, priorities, or deadlines, but must interpret guidelines, develop plans, and initiate methods to complete assignments.
Maintain mechanical strength on standardized assemblies and products.
Operate welding equipment; regulate current and voltage to ensure proper metal fusion.
Troubleshoot detailed issues.
Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process.
Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other wieldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques.
Perform routine hand-welding operations.
Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Fabricate prototype parts.
Select size and type of rod or wire appropriate for metal and welding application.
