Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), control charts, and quality improvement methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus).
Knowledge of industry-specific codes and standards, including ISO 9001, API Spec Q1/Q2, ISO 29001, ASME (e.g., B31.3, VIII, IX), and AWS D1.1.
Leadership and Communication: Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of quality inspectors and engineers.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;).
Must have excellent communication skills to liaise with all levels of staff, management, and external clients.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
Experience working directly with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues and manage expectations.
Organizational Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with standard inspection equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges, comparators) and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify quality issues and drive data-driven solutions.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control and/or quality assurance within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Practical experience in a precision engineering environment, specifically with CNC machining (3 & 5 axis) and metal cutting processes.
Strong understanding and experience with implementing, maintaining, and auditing QMS requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
Experience in a highly regulated sector (e.g., oil & gas, aerospace, nuclear) is essential.
Experience with root cause analysis (RCA) and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Why, 8D, Fishbone, FMEA) to implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
