Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems/applications and grasp fundamentals/concepts of systems.
Demonstrated ability to balance strategic planning and tactical execution.
Bachelor's Degree – Business or Healthcare Administration – Required or,
Hard-wired to work as a collegial member of a Team; confront issues and challenges – not people; and model transparency, candor, and competence with a continuous orientation to act with the organization's best interests in mind.
10-15 years of experience in law enforcement, public safety or healthcare security or other related field.
Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Physical Security Professional (PSP) are acknowledged as having value and preferred.
Master's Degree – Related Field – Preferred
Superior ability to interact with all stakeholders, build strong relationships at all levels across all business units and organizations, and understand business imperatives.
Experience in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. – Required
Knowledge of TJC, HICS, Title 22, Cal/OSHA, DHS, DOT – Required.
Strong ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
Exceptional leader with proven track record of security building programs, services and teams.
Bachelor's Degree – Criminal Justice – Required or,
IAHSS Member - IAHSS International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety - Required
Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) – required within 12 months of hire.
Advanced level of competency in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as other relevant software for information management, research, and analysis.
Demonstrated ability to create tools to enable the ability to see, decide, and act on relevant information and continuously drive process and program improvements.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks so work is completed in an accurate, timely manner.
Bachelor's Degree – Related Field Required or,
Strong understanding of the business impact of security tools, technologies, and policies.
Driver License - Department of Motor Vehicles - Required
3-5 years of management in a public safety or healthcare setting or other related field.
Prior demonstrated successful supervisory experience in public safety or healthcare or other related field.
Demonstrated ability to direct the collection of relevant data; mature the data into information and knowledge; and to make fully rationalized recommendations that identify risks of action, risks of inaction, and resource requirements; accurately express projected returns on investment and follow-through post- delivery to measure ROI throughout program execution/steady state.
Demonstrated ability to work under stress in emergencies, and the flexibility to handle simultaneous high pressure demands.
Able to amass superior knowledge, understanding, and subject matter expertise of relevant legal and regulatory requirements including participating is audit teams/process, such as the Joint Commission, DNV or CIHQ, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Meaningful Use, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, EMTALA and other security and healthcare industry initiatives and regulations.
BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association. (Certified Healthcare Safety Professional) or CHEM (Certified Healthcare Environmental Manager) designations are desirable.
Strong understanding and ability in weapons detection, K9 programs and armed personnel within the health system.
