High school diploma or GED
Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare coordination, pathology support, or a medical office role
Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions in English
Minimum typing speed of 45 WPM with 100% accuracy
Ability to properly utilize office equipment, including multi-line phones, computers, and keyboards
Strong command of grammar and excellent interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Willingness to work varying hours, including occasional weekends
Reliable personal transportation and willingness to travel to Birmingham, AL 35242 for training purposes
Travel occasionally for training purposes (reliable transportation and internet required)
Access and manage patient information and documentation using our secure network systems
Accurately enter data into the Pathology Log and maintain thorough records
Communicate professionally with physicians, patients, and coworkers
Schedule appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits
Answer phones, return calls promptly, and handle patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism
Respond to emails, internal messages, and tasks in a timely manner
Provide patient education and counseling about procedures, diagnoses, treatments, and medications
Call labs to obtain outstanding results and follow up as needed
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality
Utilize office equipment and software (Excel, Word, multi-line phones, etc.) efficiently
Multi-task and manage a high-volume workflow in a fast-paced, patient care-driven environment
Must travel occasionally for training purposes
